Vendor end date announced

OpenAI has announced 24 September 2026 as the end date for this model on the provider we run it through. Until then it works normally. On that date our catalogue stops returning it, so it drops out of this page set and no new render can be started against a dead endpoint. If you are choosing a model to standardise a workflow on, pick one without an announced end date.

Sora 2 is OpenAI's video model, reached through the Replicate bridge, and it produces picture and audio together. Along with Sora 2 Pro, and unlike every other model we run, it does not require a reference image, so a prompt on its own is a complete input. OpenAI has announced an end date for this bridge, shown on this page, so it is worth treating Sora 2 as a model to test ideas on rather than one to build a standing production workflow around.
