Start with the reference images, not the price
A reference image is how you hand a model a fact it cannot invent: the shape of your bottle, the colour of your label, the face of the person who fronts your ads. What Grok Video is: one image in, 720p out, 10 seconds max
Grok Video is the cheapest second of video on UGC Vids AI. It takes a prompt and one starting image, generates its own audio, and renders in two priced lengths: 5 seconds or 10 seconds. Resolution tops out at 720p. There is no 1080p option, and that is a property of the model rather than a tier we chose not to sell.
Credit costs are 70 for 5 seconds and 140 for 10 seconds at 720p, with a genuinely cheaper 480p tier at 50 and 100 credits. That works out at roughly 14 credits per second of finished video at 720p and 10 credits a second at 480p, which is the cheapest second of video in the entire catalogue.
On aspect ratio it is unusually flexible for its price. It handles vertical, landscape and square, and it will also follow the native ratio of whatever image you feed it rather than reshaping the frame.
The trade you are making is control. One image, one shot, 10 seconds, 720p. Within those walls it is fast and close to free by the standards of this category.
What Kling 3.0 is: 15 seconds, seven reference slots, and a 4K tier
Kling 3.0 is the flagship of the lineup and the platform default. It renders 5, 10 or 15 seconds, generates native audio in the same pass, and exposes three quality tiers: 720p, 1080p and 4K. Only two models on UGC Vids AI render 4K at all, and this is the cheaper of the two.
Its reference handling is the structural advantage. You supply a start frame, then up to six more reference images, and the model works to keep the subject in those references consistent through the clip. For a campaign where the same spokesperson or the same SKU has to appear in fifteen different renders, that is the difference between a coherent set and fifteen near misses.
Credit costs run 210, 415 and 625 for 5, 10 and 15 seconds at 720p; 260, 520 and 780 at 1080p; and 390, 780 and 1,170 at 4K. Per second that is about 42, 52 and 78 credits respectively. A 10 second 1080p render is 520 credits, roughly $5.10 on the Starter plan.

Four numbers cover almost every real decision between these two. Three of them are hard walls on the Grok side, and the fourth is the one that goes the other way.
Cost math: what one Starter plan buys
Both models draw from the same credit balance, so the comparison is simply how far 5,000 credits goes. On Grok Video at 720p, that is 71 five second clips or 35 ten second clips. On Kling 3.0 at 1080p it is 19 five second clips, 9 ten second clips, or 6 fifteen second clips. At 4K it is 12 five second clips.
Read as a ratio, one Kling 3.0 render at 1080p costs about the same as four Grok renders at 720p. That ratio, rather than any absolute number, is the useful thing to hold in your head when you are planning a week of creative.
It also scales cleanly. The pattern that shows up most often in real accounts is not one or the other. It is Grok for the part of the process where you are still deciding what the ad is, then Kling 3.0 once the ad has to contain your specific product, your specific person, and a resolution you can actually deliver.

If we had to reduce this to one sentence: Grok Video is for renders where nothing has to be true, and Kling 3.0 is for renders where something does.
