HeyGen Pricing in 2026: Every Tier and the Real Cost Per Ad

· 7 min read

Quick answer: HeyGen costs $29/month for Creator (600 credits), from $49/month for Pro (1,000 credits, scaling to 100,000 credits at $4,300/month) and $149/month for Business (1,500 credits) plus $20 per extra seat. There is a free plan capped at 3 one-minute watermarked videos a month, and an Enterprise tier HeyGen does not price publicly. Because a 30-second Avatar IV video burns 10 credits, a finished HeyGen ad lands at roughly $0.48 on Creator. Every number here was read off heygen.com/pricing on 10 August 2026.

HeyGen's plans, side by side

HeyGen splits its pricing page into "For Individuals" (Free, Creator, Pro) and "For Businesses" (Business, Enterprise). Yearly billing is a separate toggle, and the yearly figures below are the ones HeyGen displays, not a discount we calculated:

PlanMonthlyBilled yearlyCredits/moKey limits
Free$0$0None (3 videos/mo)1 min max, watermark, 1 custom digital twin, up to 3 photo avatars
Creator$29$24/mo ($288/yr)60030 min max, 1080p export, 1 seat, unlimited photo avatars
Profrom $49from $41/mo ($488/yr)1,000 to 100,00030 min max, 4K export, 1 seat, all advanced AI models
Business$149 + $20/seat$119/mo ($1,428/yr)1,50060 min max, 4K, SAML/SSO, SCORM, 5 custom digital twins
EnterpriseNot published (contact sales)FlexibleNo duration cap, multi-workspace, SCIM, dedicated CSM

Two details worth flagging before the maths. The free plan does not remove the watermark, and HeyGen's own comparison table shows no export entitlement for it, so treat Free as a demo rather than a production tier. And on Business, HeyGen states that additional seats cost $20/seat/month but does not publish how many seats the base $149 includes; the comparison table simply reads "1+".

What a HeyGen credit actually buys

HeyGen is fully credit-metered across features, and it publishes the burn rates. This is the part most pricing round-ups skip, and it is the only way to work out a real per-ad cost:

What you generateCredit cost
Studio avatar video, Avatar III engine3 credits per minute
Studio avatar video, Avatar IV or V engine20 credits per minute
Video Agent (prompt-based projects)20 credits per minute
Video Translation, audio dubbing only2 credits per minute
Video Translation, full lip-synced5 credits per minute

The gap between Avatar III and Avatar IV is nearly seven times, and Avatar IV is the engine people actually mean when they praise HeyGen's realism. Price your workflow on 20 credits per minute, not 3.

What does one finished ad cost?

Social ad creative is short, so the per-minute rate flatters HeyGen enormously. A 30-second Avatar IV video is 10 credits. Divide each plan's monthly price by its credit allowance and you get:

PlanCost per credit30s Avatar IV adAds per month at that length
Creator, $29/mo~4.8 cents~$0.48~60
Creator, $24/mo yearly~4.0 cents~$0.40~60
Pro entry, $49/mo~4.9 cents~$0.49~100
Business, $149/mo~9.9 cents~$0.99~150

Under fifty cents for a finished talking-head clip is genuinely cheap, cheaper than any generative video model on the market, ours included. If your ad is one person reading a script to camera, HeyGen is very hard to beat on unit cost. Say that plainly, because it is true, and because everything below is a limitation rather than a price problem.

The Pro credit ladder barely discounts

HeyGen's Pro tier is not one price, it is a ladder of credit bundles. Here is the full published ladder with the effective rate per credit:

Credits/moMonthlyYearly equivalentCents per credit (monthly)
1,000$49$41/mo4.9
1,500$74$62/mo4.9
2,000$99$82/mo5.0
3,000$149$124/mo5.0
5,000$240$200/mo4.8
7,500$360$300/mo4.8
10,000$460$384/mo4.6
20,000$900$752/mo4.5
50,000$2,250$1,877/mo4.5
100,000$4,300$3,586/mo4.3

Buying a hundred times the volume moves the rate from 4.9 cents to 4.3 cents, about 12 percent. The three tiers just above the entry point (1,500, 2,000 and 3,000 credits) are actually fractionally worse per credit than the entry tier itself. So climb the ladder because you need the throughput, never because you expect bulk pricing. Credits do roll over: one extra month on monthly billing, accumulating to the renewal date on annual, and expiring entirely if you cancel.

Who should actually buy HeyGen?

Buy it ifyour video output is presenter-led: product explainers, onboarding clips, sales outreach videos, support walkthroughs, or the same script delivered in 175 languages. HeyGen's translation and lip-sync pricing (2 and 5 credits per minute) is aggressive, avatar realism on Avatar IV is strong, and Business adds SAML/SSO, SCORM export, LMS integrations and connectors for n8n, Make, HubSpot and Zapier. For a marketing or enablement team producing corporate video at scale, that is a coherent, well-priced package.

Think twice ifyou are buying it as an ecommerce ad factory. Three honest frictions. First, every self-serve tier is a single seat, so a three-person creative team is pushed to Business at $149 plus $20 per head, where credits also cost double. Second, HeyGen's output centre of gravity is an avatar delivering a script; Product Placement and Look Packs exist as features, but generated scenes with real hand motion, product handling and messy real-world framing are not what the engine is built around. Third, the tier features that justify the step up, quizzes, branching, SCORM, are learning-and-development features that a media buyer will never open.

One more practical note: HeyGen charges by output minute, and re-rolls are output. A workflow where you generate ten variants of a hook and keep one is priced very differently from a workflow where you generate one polished explainer.

Where UGC Vids AI is different

We are not going to pretend we undercut HeyGen on talking-head minutes, because we do not. Our cheapest avatar render is roughly $1.18 for a 15-second clip on the $49 Starter plan, against HeyGen's ~$0.24 for the same length on Avatar IV. If your job is a presenter reading a script, HeyGen wins on cost.

What we sell instead is model choice for ad creative. One credit pool spends across Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0 and 2.6, Seedance 2.0 and 1.5, OmniHuman 1.5, Grok, Happy Horse 1.1, VEED Fabric and Pruna Avatar, so a product-in-hand scene, a b-roll cutaway and a talking head all come out of the same $49. (We do not count Sora 2 in that list: OpenAI retires it on 24 September 2026.) On Starter, a Veo 3.1 8-second 1080p clip is 245 credits, about $2.40, and a Kling 2.6 10-second clip is 260 credits, about $2.55. More expensive per clip than a HeyGen avatar, and a completely different kind of asset. Paid plans have no video-count cap, only the credit pool: $49 for 5,000 credits, $99 for 12,000, $199 for 25,000, 30 percent off annually.

The honest framing: HeyGen is the cheaper choice for scripted presenter video and multilingual corporate content. We are built for the ecom creative-testing loop, where what you need is twenty different scenes, not twenty different scripts. Frequently asked questions

How much does HeyGen cost in 2026?

HeyGen has a free plan (3 videos per month, up to 1 minute each, watermarked) and three paid tiers. Creator is $29/month, or $24/month billed yearly ($288 a year), and includes 600 credits per month. Pro starts at $49/month ($41/month billed yearly, $488 a year) for 1,000 credits and scales up a credit ladder to 100,000 credits at $4,300/month. Business is $149/month ($119/month billed yearly, $1,428 a year) for 1,500 credits, plus $20 per additional seat per month. Enterprise is contact-sales only and HeyGen does not publish its price.

How many credits does a HeyGen video use?

HeyGen publishes its credit rates on its pricing page. Studio avatar videos cost 3 credits per minute on the Avatar III engine and 20 credits per minute on Avatar IV or V. Video Translation costs 2 credits per minute for audio dubbing without lip sync and 5 credits per minute for full translation with lip sync. Video Agent, the prompt-based project mode, costs 20 credits per minute.

What does one HeyGen ad actually cost?

A 30-second Avatar IV video uses 10 credits. On the Creator plan ($29 for 600 credits) that is about $0.48 per finished 30-second video, and the monthly allowance covers about 60 of them. On Pro's entry tier ($49 for 1,000 credits) it is about $0.49 each, covering about 100. On Business ($149 for 1,500 credits) the same clip costs about $0.99 because that plan sells governance and seats rather than cheaper credits. Using the older Avatar III engine at 3 credits per minute drops a 30-second video to roughly $0.07 on Creator.

Is HeyGen Pro cheaper per credit than Creator?

No. HeyGen's credit ladder is nearly flat. Creator is $29 for 600 credits, about 4.8 cents per credit. Pro's entry tier is $49 for 1,000 credits, about 4.9 cents per credit, which is marginally worse. Even the largest published tier, 100,000 credits at $4,300/month, works out to about 4.3 cents per credit. Buying a hundred times more volume saves roughly 12 percent per credit, so upgrade for the features and the higher concurrency, not for a volume discount.

Do HeyGen credits roll over?

Yes, with conditions HeyGen states on its pricing page. Monthly subscribers' unused credits roll over for one additional month. Annual subscribers' credits accumulate until their annual renewal date. Credits do not survive cancellation: once the subscription is inactive, the previous cycle's credits expire.

Is HeyGen good for ecommerce ads?

It is good for one specific ad shape: a presenter reading a script to camera, which HeyGen produces cheaply, quickly and in 175+ languages. It is a weaker fit when the ad needs generated scenes, real hand motion, a product being used, or side-by-side model variety, because HeyGen's core output is avatar-led studio video rather than prompt-to-scene generation. Its heaviest tier features, SCORM export, LMS integrations and interactive quizzes, are aimed at learning and development teams, not performance marketers.
